Crucial Success Skills Forged Through My Journey

I think strong interpersonal skills bring great social contributions to the workplace. Interpersonal skills are the set of skills we use to interact and communicate with others. Having good interpersonal skills is a key professional strength that can set you apart from other people.Interpersonal skills can improve your ability to do well in jobs and build productive, long-lasting relationships in your personal and professional life. Normally, social or interpersonal skills are learned by taking part in daily group activities, through specific daily actions involving others, and by watching other people succeed or fail in simple interactions. Everyday life within a family, at school, at church, or on the playing field offers a wealth of opportunities to be introduced to and practice your interpersonal skills. These skills can be picked up naturally and used with sincerity. The best interpersonal skills are never forced, even if they are used with specific purposes in mind. They are a tool for positive results and living, whether at work or within a community or a family.

Skills I have Cultivated is:

Decisiveness: I can can make decisions quickly with the information I have. Effective decision-making comes with time and experience. As I became more familiar with the specific industry, I’ll be able to make decisions faster, even when you don’t have all of the necessary information. Decisiveness is seen as a valuable leadership skill because it can help move projects along faster and improve efficiency.

Integrity: Integrity is often seen as just truthfulness or honesty but in many cases, it also means having and standing by a set of strong values. Integrity in the workplace often means being able to make ethical choices and helping the company maintain a positive image. All businesses seek to hire workers who have a strong sense of integrity.

Relationship Building: Leadership requires the ability to build and maintain a strong and collaborative team of individuals working towards the same goal. Team building requires other leadership strengths like effective communication skills and conflict resolution.

Problem Solving: I am skilled at solving issues that arise on the job. Effective problem-solving often requires staying calm and identifying a step-by-step solution. Problem-solving skills can help leaders make quick decisions, resolve obstacles with their team and external teams alike and ensure projects are completed on time according to specifications.

Dependability: Being a dependable leader means that people can trust and rely on you. A dependable person follows through on plans and keeps promises. The strong relationships built by a dependable leader create a resilient team that is able to work through difficulties that may arise.

Ability to Teach and Mentor: One of the skills that differentiates leadership from many other competencies is the ability to teach and mentor. Effectively teaching colleagues or subordinates how to grow in their careers helps organisations scale. Often, this skill requires that leaders think less about themselves and more about how to make their team, as a whole, successful. These are the skills I have cultivated, such as leadership, creativity, or interpersonal skills that had contributed to my accomplishments.

Crafting Creative Opportunities from Every Challenge

Hardships can bring unexpected gifts if we’re open to gleaning lessons from them. While this isn’t automatic, anyone can find and embrace these silver linings.

Here are 4 lessons learned from hardships.

Compassion & Adversity: A significant dose of humility usually comes with hardship. It’s never easy to confront the truth that you aren’t perfect, invincible, or immune to difficult or even terrible things. But going through hardship can open your eyes to the hardships of others. Receiving support and help from others may motivate you to give support more readily. Your sense of compassion can grow.

Self Knowledge & Perspective: Hardships force you to come face-to-face with who you are. Lessons learned from hardships often reveal limitations, patterns, beliefs, and skills you didn’t see or appreciate before. This shift, which increases self-awareness, is powerful. You have the chance to make new choices based on what matters; how you act, think, and feel; and what you can and can’t do.

Limits of Control: As much as you might want to chart your own path, hardship is a powerful reminder of the limits of your own control. By acknowledging and embracing those limits on your power, you can put down some of the weight you’re carrying and accept that some things aren’t up to you.

Flexibility: Surviving hardship and willing yourself to move forward builds added strength to tackle new challenges and face future failures. Flexibility allows you to be resilient and durable as things change. It teaches you to be open to learning and agile as you figure out what to do next.

Look Back to Find Your Lessons of Experience: Hardships aren’t the main way people learn — experience is the primary teacher. Our Lessons of Experience research tells us that almost a quarter of all leadership development stems from hardships. That’s more than classroom experiences or formal training opportunities, meaning that what you’re going through right now could be a powerful catalyst on your leadership journey. I would suggest catch any negative self-talk and replace it with empowering beliefs that help you work toward your goal rather than undermine it. The more you shift yourself toward a positive mindset, the more equipped you will be to overcome adversity. Hardship is painful. But if you can learn from it, and turn it into an opportunity for growth, you gain something back that stays with you forever.

My Impact

One of the most effective ways to make a positive impact in your community is by actively participating in local events and initiatives. Farmer’s markets, for instance, can be excellent platforms to showcase your products and provide an opportunity to engage with the community on a personal level. Making a positive impact doesn’t always have to be grand. Encourage a culture of giving within your business by engaging in small acts of kindness. This could involve supporting local charities, sponsoring community events, or simply offering a helping hand to those in need. These actions create a ripple effect that contributes to the overall well-being of your community. By actively engaging with your community and embracing your role as a positive influence, you inspire others to follow suit. Your commitment to making a difference encourages individuals and other businesses to collectively contribute to a thriving and vibrant community.

I wanted to make a difference and give my career a direction. But low self-esteem and lack of confidence have been my companions for long and taking on roles and responsibilities have always seemed like a Herculean task. My fondness for children came to my rescue and landed me in Child Rights and You (CRY), an Indian non-governmental organisation that has been advocating for children's rights for the past 40 years. My journey in CRY has been one of a kind. What began as an internship turned into an association of a year and a half. Anyone wondering if an internship with an NGO is worth it, here are my seven takeaways from being a social work volunteer. Every day is a new opportunity and one needs to seize it in the best possible manner. With opportunities comes learning and, hence, every day is a road to new learning. Each day as a volunteer you are exposed to newer projects, newer approaches, newer challenges, and newer ways of reaching your goal. Whether you accomplish your objective or not, all you gain is a lesson for life. Volunteering is not a simple walk through a straight path.

You nurture both your hard and soft skills like data analysis and communication skills. Most of the time you are assigned a task that matches your skill, but at times you are trained to develop newer ones. One needs to work under certain circumstances and challenges, which helps in understanding one’s potential. It helps you develop various interpersonal and other soft skills like emotional intelligence, conflict resolution and flexibility, which go on to become the most valuable assets later in life. Volunteering for a cause with sincerity can boost your self-esteem significantly. You vouch for what is right, you take responsibility and concentrate on bringing out the best. You become confident and your thought process develops. Every experience helps you unbox your capabilities. Volunteering brings you psychosocial relief and allows self-reflection, which leads to the development of personality as a whole.

This experience of doing little things widens your vision. It makes you grateful for what you have and, at the same time, gives you a fresh perspective. Volunteering has changed the way I looked at achievements. It made me realise that it is not always the big accomplishments that can bring about a difference. Tiny winning moments can also develop you from within. The journey makes you humble, keeps you grounded. It is a transformation for one who wishes to make a change as well as for one who receives it. Whether it be on a wider scale or at a personal level, such an experience remains crucial for every individual at some point in their life. My association with CRY as an intern and later as a volunteer was more of a learning and a rewarding one. Not only has the experience awakened the self-conscious zone but has revealed the realities around me. The joy of volunteering is peerless, but the impact is stronger than one can ever envisage.

Scaling New Heights in Personal and Professional Triumphs

I consider success as achieving both small and big milestones. Seeing success as a process has helped me to actively look for challenges that drive me. Furthermore, I strive to look at things from a different perspective and to find creative solutions to problems. Facing these challenges helps me make progress in both my personal and professional life. I define success as meeting a combination of company and personal goals and helping my team do the same. I believe that effective goals motivate us to push ourselves and grow, and as a result of meeting such goals, we not only help the company by meeting its objectives, but we also become more effective employees who can contribute to even greater growth in the future. As a leader, I also want my team to feel capable of achieving their goals as well as the company's objectives, so I make it a priority to personally help them meet individualised milestone Benchmarks what I set for my own personal & Organizational goals: I got a job in the year 2020 with the IDFC First Bank,Gurgaon itself.

The role was new and the journey too into the Sales segment. For the first three months, training was highly given. Then from the fourth month we have been asked to deliver the productivity by using our learnt skills.I started selling banking products to the exisiting & new customers.Quite happy to sell the products to them.Even got appreciation with my head boss and got recognized at State level. Obviously if I met the Organizational goals,my personal goals is also achieved. Then in my next jump, I got new set of challenges working in Kotak Mahindra Bank.I was doing great, but have onboarded new set of Corporates for the bank.Again I achieved my set targets and the benchmarks set by me. When I joined this Advertising industry, I was very new in this HR role and was a beginner in this vertical. I used all my honed skills and made a good impact in the Organization by hiring, choosing a right candidate and made policies for the Organization though. Everything was going great. All I believe is If anyone can believe in themselves, then nothing can stop them. One can easily conquer anything/any challenges.
