Thankfully
my persistence, patience & hard work has given me firm ground and I enjoy
each day with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.
My Journey While Moving Ahead In My Career:
Working after a long gap and in a totally different environment
taught me how to adapt myself with people of diverse mindsets and cultural
backgrounds. I enjoyed the diversity around me and soon was able to learn how
to overcome the language barrier challenge. I found that people like it when
you are truthful of not knowing things rather then pretending to know few of
them and messing up in the bargain. They are many who are eager to teach you if
you are open to learning.
Challenges Faced:
This industry is a male dominated one and from the start I was
frowned upon. I had to keep proving myself every day. People acknowledged my
success but still waited to see how soon I will fail.
Words Of Wisdom To Restart Your Career:
Those who want to restart their careers- Please up skill
yourself, have your reasons totally clear in the interview on why you took a
break and remember it's absolutely fine to take one: I had taken too.
Network with the right kind of people. Those who want to grow in career, be very sure where you want to be in next 5 years. Work towards that goal with absolute clarity. Do some courses if required. Don't ever compare your goals with others; we all have our own journey!
